1837 Barossa holds a rich historical presence. Colonel William Light stands proudly on the site to commemorate the birthplace of Barossa Valley – A tribute to which 1837 wine makers dedicate their wines year after year.
Arriving at the 1837 Barossa helipad a 1837 Barossa staff will guide you to the Col. Light Monument and you can enjoy the full 360-degree views from the historic point, which commemorates the birthplace of the Barossa. You will be able to walk the art trail which allows you to take pictures of the many colourful sculptures, which includes the “Wings of Barossa” where you can pose as an angel between two giant wings that overlook the vineyards. Arriving at exclusive 1837 Barossa Pavilion your will be greeted with a welcome drink. You will watch a movie about the history off the Barossa, which is followed by guided vineyard walk, where you learn all about grape growing. If seasons permits, you will be able to sample some grapes. Back in the exclusive Pavilion you will receive an introduction in winemaking, and you will learn how to taste wine like a professional. The wine experience will then be crowned by a tasting of 8 wines, which will include the reserve range.
After the wine experience you will be guided to the Horizon@1837 restaurant on the picturesque estate. The restaurant boasts a spectacular view over the Barossa and a staff will seat you at the best place in the house (weather depending) where you can sip and graze the day away!

Dive deep into the past and explore the unique history of Barossa winemaking, while enjoying the very best sights and surroundings from the skies. Your journey starts off from our heli-pad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley, before flying past the township of Lyndoch tracking right, along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley and continuing towards historic Seppeltsfield Winery for some stunning views of the vineyards and palm tree studded roads that surround the winery.
Before you descend into Artisans of Barossa on the Northern side of Tanunda, you will catch a glimpse of Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfolds Winery. You’ll then land within 20 metres of the entrance of Artisans of Barossa where you will indulge in a ‘Rarities’ experience, trying 6 wines from the full tasting selection, showcasing the influence of regions and winemakers within the Barossa.
Artisans of Barossa is a collaboration of eight small winemakers, brought together by a shared commitment to protect and promote the art of small-batch Barossa winemaking, and has over 100 Barossa wines available! Once you have found a favourite wine or two, wander over to Artisans of Barossa’s café/providore, Delikatessen. Dining is more on the casual side. But your tour isn’t over yet.
Once onboard the helicopter, we will continue the flight along the outskirts of Tanunda heading south towards Jacob’s Creek Winery. Which is home to some of the largest wine tanks in Australia. From there you will travel to the most southern end of the Barossa, past the town of Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall, which holds back the Barossa Reservoir, before returning to the helipad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley.

After departing from our home base in the peaceful Hoffnungsthal Valley, it’s time to relax and take in the gorgeous sights and surrounds as you enjoy the beautiful scenic helicopter flight northeast over Rowland Flat, home of Jacob’s Creek Winery, where some of Australia’s largest wine tanks are located. 1837 Barossa holds a rich historical presence. Colonel William Light stands proudly on the site to commemorate the birthplace of Barossa Valley – A tribute to which 1837 wine makers dedicate their wines year after year.
Arriving at the 1837 Barossa helipad a 1837 Barossa staff will guide you to the Col. Light Monument and you can enjoy the full 360-degree views from the historic point, which commemorates the birthplace of the Barossa. You will be able to walk the art trail which allows you to take pictures of the many colourful sculptures, which includes the “Wings of Barossa” where you can pose as an angel between two giant wings that overlook the vineyards. Arriving at exclusive 1837 Barossa Pavilion your will be greeted with a welcome drink. You will watch a movie about the history off the Barossa, which is followed by guided vineyard walk, where you learn all about grape growing. If seasons permits, you will be able to sample some grapes. Back in the exclusive Pavilion you will receive an introduction in winemaking, and you will learn how to taste wine like a professional. The wine experience will then be crowned by a tasting of 8 wines, which will include the reserve range.
After the wine experience you will be guided to the Horizon@1837 restaurant on the picturesque estate. The restaurant boasts a spectacular view over the Barossa and a staff will seat you at the best place in the house (weather depending) where you can sip and graze the day away!
Once it is time to go, back in the helicopter, sit back and enjoy the flight as we take you past the quaint town of Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall following up stream to the South Para Reservoirs before returning to our base via Williamstown, capturing a perfect view of the idyllic southern Barossa Ranges.

The landscape will change from beautiful rolling hills to flat red country as we fly north-east to the Historic Overland Corner Hotel. Thousands and thousands of hectares of farming country! As we get closer to Overland Corner you will start to see the vegetation swamp lands of the Murray River.
Overland Corner was originally a camping ground for local aboriginal people and drovers, and over time developed as a point where timber was supplied to the fuel the paddle steamers taking prospectors up the Murray River. The first hotelkeeper's license for the Overland Corner Hotel was granted to William Brand on 13 March 1860. The Hotel is the oldest building in the Riverland and is one of South Australia’s most haunted buildings.

From there get ready to kick back and enjoy some of the best sights we have to offer on this fantastic 30-minute flight. First, we will fly you past the charming township of Lyndoch before tracking along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley to Historic Seppeltsfield.
Here you will see stunning vineyards contouring the rolling hills, palm tree studded roads and the Seppelt Family mausoleum, which is certainly a sight to behold.
Descending into Barossa Valley Estate’s stunning garden, designed by Paul Bangay. A short stroll over the beautiful lawns, enjoying a Rose while we walk to the cellar door. Once inside you will be guided through an E & E Black Pepper Shiraz Vertical Tasting, amercing yourself in the older vintages, which one is your favorite? After your tasting, choose your wine, sit back enjoy the views while enjoying a South Australian Produce Platter.
From there you will fly over Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfold’s Winery before veering along the eastern side of Nuriootpa, around the Wolf Blass winery, and then marveling at the view over the large limestone quarry near the town of Angaston. A little further on you will get a bird’s eye view of one of the most beautiful horse racing studs in south Australia. From Angaston the view is an awesome 180-degree view of the Barossa valley and beyond, you can literally see for miles! As you
descend into the valley towards Tanunda, your pilot will point out some of the historic buildings and settlements like Chateau Tanunda and Bethany. Beyond Tanunda is Rowland flat – home of the famous Jacobs Creek where you will view some of Australia’s largest wine tanks, some of which are up to 1.4 million litres each. From there we take you to the southern end of the Barossa, past Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall (the Barossa reservoir) before finally returning to the Hoffnungsthal Valley.
